I want to solve this problem of a drying operation.
How do I plot a drying rate curve?

But I am confused with weather the moisture content be on dry basis or on wet basis for the graphical representation as well as for the calculation of the drying time?
please elaborate.

Work on the "sir Q numericals.xlsx" seems satisfactory to my understanding, some comments are included in the attached "dryingR0.xls".
You should use dry weight basis on all treatments / graphs of data. In this way you avoid confusion too. Good info on the subject can be found in "Solids drying fundamentals", Chapter of "Psychrometry, Evaporative Cooling, and Solids Drying" in Perry's "Chemical Enginner's handbook". It is Chapter 12 in the 7th edition (1999).
