Hi. I'm a student in chemical engineering. I completed the thermal design for a kettle reboiler of DEG. Now I want to "design" the other aspect of the reboiler, like the weir lenght (for example how much is longer than the liquid level), the angle between the shell and the bundle diameter, the lenght of the part where steam enters and condensate exit. Can anyone suggest me a textbook or some procedures to solve this kind of problem?
I'm sorry for my bad english.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

Orazio

As you have probably found out, there is practically nothing on the construction features of a kettle reboiler in the literature.

I have designed kettle reboilers using a weir height that is 2 inches higher than the top most tube row. This dimension has to be higher if the boiling fluid foams.
