Hello everyone,

Is there typical flow fractions for kettle reboilers ? Does the values in Saunders handbook apply to kettle reboilers ? And as per your experience how to adjust these values ?

Thank you

Hi,

Not sure I understand the query!  flow fraction for Kettle reboiler.  from liquid to Gas 100% minus the residue part W.

Can you share the reference of the handbook?.

Thanks Lyne,

I cannot support,

wait for others.

Note:

Process heat transfer, Principles, Applications and rules of Thumb by Robert W. Serth and Thomas G. Lestina has a good presentation of reboilers and detailed calculations.

Good luck,

Breizh

If you are asking how much liquid to withdraw from a kettle reboiler, then that is determined by the distillation column and its required material balance. The kettle reboiler is to be designed for the service required.
