I am requested to check the possibility to product diesel from crude oil on offshore platform to feed gas turbine. I have made some rechearch but don't found reference for similar application.
We look after a mini refinery with simplified process system focused only to the extraction of diesel , all the by product will be recycled to the crude oil system.
Will apreciate if any one can inform about minimum dimension for such unit because we have a layout contraint. we expect a unit to produce between 1000 to 2000 baril/day of diesel.

The problem would be that you would need to distill a significant volume of crude to get that much diesel, depending on the crude assay. The equipment may not be "huge", but you will need to heat the oil to high temperatures (fired heater), and condense the naphtha. You have seawater, but metallurgy could be expensive for that.

I do not know of any installations of such facilities on offshore platforms.
