Hello everyone,
Does anyone have experience in dealing with pyrophoric build in MVR filters going from inerted to non-inerted vessel loading? I'm working on a project that installs filters upstream of detonation arrestors in the client's MVR system. A question was raised if these filters could experience pyrophoric build resulting in a fire/explosion going from inerted to non-inerted loading. The initial suggestion was to clean the filters prior to going to non-inerted loading, however, we chose fiberglass filters that aren't designed to be cleaned. Before we re-spec these filters, I'd like to know if this is a viable scenario? The MVR is used for full range finished gasoline, gasoline blending components (naphtha, light/heavy reformate, alkylate) and benzene. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
