Hi all

I am trying to use Fenske-Underwood-Gilliand (FUG) Equation to obtain an estimation of the number of stages required for my distillation column.

However, my choice of condenser is a partial condenser, therefore, FUG equation does not seems to be able to give me the correct temperature, min reflux ratio and operating pressure as compared to simulation in HYSYS, i.e. i used a min condensing temp of 49C to calculate the condenser pressure but when simulated on HYSYS, the temperature obtained was 77C.

So are there any other equations which can better provide me a better estimation for partial condenser distillation design?

Thank you
