Dear members,

In a coal fired boiler fired with 6% sulpher contents to be treated in flue gas desulphurization unit. The flue gase temperature at inlet of this DeSOx unit is 155 C and outlet temperature is 45 C. Just i wolud like to know what will be the flue gases compostion/analysis at inlet & outlet of desulphurization unit so that stack metallury to finalized accordingly.

thanks

Narnia:

Are you an engineering student? Is this a homework problem?

If not, then you should have a flue gas analysis already in hand. If you don’t have an analysis and can’t get one done, then you should know the coal firing rate and the design of the firing rate for the boiler. With the firing rate, you can easily make a combustion calculation. You certainly should have a complete analysis of the coal being fired. With the calculation results, you know the composition of the flue gases and with the knowledge of what type and kind of “DeSOx unit” you are operating, you should be able to easily identify the inlet & outlet compositions on the desulphurization unit.
