Dear all,

I am now working on dispersion study for enclosed flare. First, I have tried Screenview Software for that study. But, it is just for elevated flare. So, can u tell me the most applicable software for my study?

Thanks for the support :)

Enclosed ground flare, http://www.flareindustries.com/products/pdf/7%20Enclosed%20Ground%20Flares%201.pdf could be considered as chimney (corresponding to enclosed flare stack) to discharge combustion gases to atmosphere. For instance, see http://www.bp.com/liveassets/bp_internet/bp_caspian/bp_caspian_en/STAGING/local_assets/downloads_pdfs/xyz/BTC_English_ESIAs_Amended_Turkey_EIA__Final_incorporating_comments__Content_BTC_EIA_Appendi-ing_Figures.pdf, especially paras 1.1.1.2, 1.1.2.2 and Table 1.2, using the Gaussian dispersion model ISCST3. Simpler models could be applied, depending on accuracy needed, available meteorological data, even personal familiarization.
Probably useful info on stack gas dispersion and models can be seen in http://www.cheresources.com/invision/topic/13766-stack-height and to some extent in http://www.cheresources.com/invision/topic/14840-stack-design-for-an-indirect-fired-heater. FRED and Phast are mentioned there, among other models.
Exit velocity from enclosed flare stack can be low compared to furnace / boiler chimneys, thus increasing probability for downwash (pollutants "directed" down by wind, G. Nonhebel "Gas Purification Process for air pollution control, Butterworth - London - 1972).
Hope it helps, yet there is no specific experience on ground flares and their gas dispersion.
