Dear All,,
For designing a shell and tube condenser to condense acetone vapors i have to use "-20 brine" as coolant in shell side that compose of 60% water and 40% methanol.
Now i should know Cp of coolant. can I do the math like
.6 x .99 + .4 x .605 = .836 kcal/kg C
where .99 and .605 are Cp of water & methanol respectively.
Another problem is that process is under vacuum and pump suction capacity is 300 m3/hr. we aim at condensing 20 kg of acetone over 06 hrs of drying with 60% recovered in 1st 02 hrs. what should be my assumption for flow rate of acetone vapors?
thanx in advance
