Do you have any idea about Control Valve of rich amine from the the amine absorber bottom?

Actually, the problem which i have , that lot of sludge accumulated on the trays in absorber...

Could be the reason in amine or the untreated LPG quality specification ?

Or level transmitter for the absorber giving wrong reading/signal?

Betty

There is Lean Amine Control Valve FC , Rich Amine Control valve LC

How could I do Fluctuation test?

Betty:

I know exactly what the rich amine control valve is and what it is supposed to do within the amine regereration unit.

What I don't know is your problem. You have not described your problem (if you have one) as it relates to the rich amine control valve.
Can you tell us that?

In RFCC (LPG Merox):

I have to analyze the Amine Absorber Fouling problem (accumulated sludge formed on the surface of traysby causing an increase in DP at the top of the Amine Absorber), by checking and monitoring the Fluctuation of both Lean Amine Flow Controller (FC) and Rich Amine Level Controller (LC).

Moreover, if the feed (Untreated LPG) is fluctuated above 160 m3/hr, Coalescers levels are hunting and the extractor carry over is started.

I hope I describe the problem..

Betty:

This query, in my opinion, has nothing to do with the thread’s title ("Rich Amine Control Valve"). It has more to do with existing fouling inside your amine absorber.

I always attack the CAUSE of the problem(s) – not the effects. The cause of the fouling, in my opinion, is at the root of all your downstream problems. Get rid of (or reduce) the sludge fouling and the operation will improve. No absorber is designed or expected to operate normally with continued fouling. Therefore monitoring, analyzing, and checking the effects caused by the invasion of sludge onto the absorber trays is, in my opinion, a waste of time. Find out where the sludge originates and why; then directly proceed to eliminate or drastically reduce it. You simply cannot tolerate any sludge to be included in a gas stream entering an absorber – or as a result of amine decomposition.

The amine absorber is a heat and mass transfer operation between a liquid (amine solution) and a gas. Solids are simply not permitted to enter the system.

Betty,
Art assumed that this is a gas treater. From your description, it sounds like you are operating a liquid LPG treater. Since it it MEROX, I am certain that there is a slipstream operation for filtering the amine and includes a charcoal treater. Sounds like this system is overwhelmed or is not operating.
