could anyone tell me what is the proper installation of an oriffice( according to the flow direction)?

What will take place if the oriffice was installed in the wrong direction?

Thanks in advance

Manhal,
I'm not sure that I understand your question, but I'll respond to what I think you're asking.

There is an upstream and a downstream side to all orifice plates. The sharp edge of the orifice should face upstream, while the bevelled edge faces downstream. If you install the orifice plate reversed, the pressure drop will be less than what you expect and/or the flowrate will be greater than what you expect. That is because you will have introduced a more gradual approach to the minimum opening, sort of a converging section. Granted the convergence occurs over just the thickness of the orifice plate, but I believe the effect is significant nonetheless.
