I want to install Coriolis mass flow meter for batch Reactor.
Can i use same Mass flow meter for measuring mass flow of e.g. Hexane & Decane liquid if i feed it one after another in the Batch reactor in sequence?

Whether same is applied for gases? ie. Can i use same Mass flow meter for measuring mass flow of e.g. Ethylene & Propylene gas if i feed it one after another in the Batch reactor in sequence?

What is formula for calculating mass flow rate in coriolis mass flow meter?
& what are the inputs we need to give to vendor

Plz. REply ASAP ! i need to procure it urgently.

Shakil ,
For liquids , yes you can , I did it for similar application . Suppliers of this type of equipment should support your query .
You need to give them the range ( min, Normal ,max flow rate) , the materials ,the working condition, the equipment will give you the mass (kg/h) , the density (kg/m3) .

Ask the vendor a specification sheet ( Emerson , Endress hauser ,.....).

thank breizh ! It helped me !
But i need some more theoritical / calculation support for mass flow measurement in case of Gas & liquid as well!

Dear Shakil
You can use coriolis for this application, the standard API that will help is "Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 5-Metering"
Usually this type of meter used as fiscal metering due to its high rangeability and accuracy. If you need to measure mass flow meter you can use such as orifice plates and then in the DCS make a program that calculates the density a function of pressure and temperature and then convert to volumetric flow or mass flow. Similarly the Coriolis meter measuring mass and density then converted volume flow as required.
My suggestion is based on this type of meter is very expensive and most likely have to install a meter on standby, calibration facilities, etc..
