There is a need to heat 1 t/h of 12 bar steam from 200 deg C to 400 deg C in one of our units.
Since the requirement is temporary (for a short period of time), I am looking for "out-of-the-box" solutions.
I came across a website, www.thermalhire.com, which specialises in providing ceramic pads, typically used for post weld heat treatment.
Can I wrap these pads on a pipe and simulate a heat exchanger ?
1. Will this work ?
2. Typically electric heat tracing cannot deliver more than 50W/m. How is this different from an electric heat tracing ?
3. How do I calculate required pipe length ?
