I have only 7 months in the business of flowback. I am seeking answers from any one that can help. Have had others look into issue but no answers.

Problem is the 3 phrase horizontal seperator with over flow weir. Oil produces an inch an hour and the controller for oil works fine. no prob. Water controller also works fine. The problem that we have is that we do not get a level on water dump unless oil on right side of weir goes up and out of sight glass spilling over to left side of weir. Or so we think. But when it happened twice, we had oil and water in sight glass and was able to better set the dump. The total fluid level sight glass on other side of seperator show empty. Why, we dont know. We produce maybe an inch of water in a 12hr period. So if levels are not coming up high enough to spill oil over weir, then how are we getting an oil level. And why is the total fluid sight glass show empty.

Again, i dont have alot of time in this field, but am trying to learn. wants answers. Please..

Supply a sketch of the separator and instruments, and maybe we can help. And, where are you?

Besides what Bob Strain requests, please clean up your English so that we can make out what you mean to state.

What is the meaning of "flowback". I've been in the hydrocarbon business for quite some time now and I've yet to come across this term. Do you mean "Upstream" or Downstream" part of the oil and gas production process?

We can't tell why your level gauges aren't reading or indicating correctly from where we are located. That is an impossiblity. All we can do is guess; and my guess would be that they either are not located correctly or they are plugged up.
