I am modelling a 4stage reciprocating compressor with interstage Knock-outs and an Air Exchangers. The gas handled is saturated Natural Gas.

The 3rd and 4th stages of compression shows hydrocarbon liquid condensates at respective stage pressures. Providing common liquid condensate line to a pressure of about 8.5kg/cm2g through multistage restricted orifices. In some of the condensate lines have to provide heat tracing to ensure safe liquid hydrocarbon pipe line transmission to common reseptacle.

MY QUESTION:

While working on, did not get the RO(Restricted Orifice) model in Relief Valve object pallette in hysys. My question is where do I find in Object Pallette.

dear samrat!

You are doing right thing! for RO used Relief Valve bottom tab which may be rating, go there and fill the value and Type of Orifice Size (A,B,C,D,E and etc).

junaid8942,

Thank you for your quick response and appreciate.

However your response is not very clear to me. I only understood the Orifice size part of it. Which other input you are talking about?? Have you done similar case? If you can provide me some information, that would clarify your point as well as solution to RO.

The RO sizes in my particular case comes to 1.223mm as the condensate drain is of 1.00NB with appropriate schedule thickness of XXS. Therefore the orifice area is around 1.175mm2 which I do not find in the software. The beta ratio is 0.08 and the discharge co-efficient is 0.6.

Samrat,

you can find RO in relief valve as it is part of relief valve. you can select the RV. and attached the inlet and outlet streams. Goto internal window by clicking RV twice than take look on lower tab where "design", "rating","performances" and "dynamic" are shown.First of all go to design tab where, by side you found "parameter" tab, specified operating pressure and full open pressure. then go to "rating" tab where you specified the type of Valve "Quick opening", "linear" & "equal percentage" alongwith  this you found the parameter of RO put the value their and in this you see "RO type" remain it to "none" and specfied the RO area as you mention in your reply. Now you can able to converged it for Simulation.

Hope you get the clear view of your related question.

regards

junaid
