Hi everyone! I'm looking for information about the design of spray dryers and I need to determinate a few points about the operation

1.- I need to analyse an evaporation system to install before the dryer.

2.- To determinate the carbon footprint of the process

3.-  and finally to describe the industrial processs to determinate the humidity on the final product.

Where could I find information? Have anyone some info about these points? I know spray dryers are really a difficult equipment to design, because of the so less information you can find about them.

Hope you could help me.

Thanks to everyone.

Thanks breizh, this is really helpful!

Don't you have any idea how could I calculate the carbon footprint?

Dear Felipe,

I can see you are somewhat familiar with Germany.

I request you to go through GEA Process having collobration with Niro Denmark.

Niro is world leader in spray drying technology. They have very good experience on this techonlogy.

1. Faling film evaporator ( MVR technology Most energy efficient) - See attached file for reference.

2. I don't have clear idea.

3. Which kind of product ?

REgards,

Thanks a lot to all of you.

Jrtailor09, I made my exchange studies in Germany (a few courses in master). I found info about milk evaporation and you are right, falling film evaporators are highly recommended. I'll take a look at the file you uploaded. Thanks again.

Oh.. by the way, the product should be powdered milk for selling as a common powdered milk, so "house-use" milk (sorry I don't know how to explain it), so nothing to sell any other industries. I've found a lot of specifications about the humidity. I don't know about Chile (where I live) but I found about some UE countries and the milk humidity should be rounding the 3,5%. I just need to research about the industrial method to quantify it.

Regards

Filipe,

The attached white paper may be interesting for your carbon footprint question.
