Suppose if I desuperheat the steam by spraying boiler feed water having lower temperature , how to calculate the incremental steam qty due to evaporation of spray water. if x is superheated steam and y is the amount of water sprayed, what would be the qty of desuperheated steam.

Goudar,

 

All injected water into the steam stream will evaporates!

 

You need to perform and Enthalpy balance around the desuperheating device.

Hi Goudar.

 

For your help, attached you find two Excel files, the first one calculate the Spirax Sarco example for desuperheater example.

The second one is for calculate the properties of water steam that I used for solve the problem. I used the two files and get the enthalpies and paste in the first Excel file.

The Excel file for steam properties I get by Google for x steam tables by Magnus Holmgren and downloaded it

 

I think that will be useful.
