In your Word document, for a gradual contraction the way you have defined ξ is exactly the same as the way Crane have defined K in equation 2-15. You then calculated K as K = ξ - β4 + 1 and K = ξ + 1/ β4 - 1. Is this intended to be a correction factor for laminar flow? You have not detailed what your Reference 25 is.
Note that although the Crane 410 document states in a few places that the K values are valid for laminar as well as turbulent flow, the K values are in fact valid for fully developed turbulent flow only. You are correct to therefore apply a correction factor if you are working with laminar flow, but you have not explained where the correction factor comes from.
