Hello,

I am currently completing some water hammer calculations.

I have a 4" multiphase line flowing at 5MPa. 3MMSCFD of gas and 500bbl/d of condensate will be transported.

I have completed calculations following the method from Applied Process Design for Chemical and Petrochemical Plants (see attached).

I have used a simulator to model the system and it has determined the velocities of the gas and liquid within the pipe.

I am not sure if I am completing my calculations properly. What velocity should I be using? I have been using the liquid velocity with the attached method.

Is there any formulas for determining the water hammer in a multiphase line?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance.
