I would like to know whether in an existing Delayed coker furnace which is being fed with boiler feed water at 105 deg C, any advantage of using HP steam at 300 deg. c apart from reducing the heater load on furnace, will it give any improved performance. Is the notional heat gain by giving HP steam is negated by the cost of producing steam ?

Any elaboration / clarification is welcome.
