Dear Refiners,

As you know PSA outlet hydrogen product has a limitation in terms of CO as 50 ppmv because of methanation of hydrocracking catalyst. We all know this is theory that every hydrocracking catalyst seller tell their customers.

Have anyone experienced the excessive amount of CO(higher than 50 ppmv in PSA hydrogen) in the PSA hydrogen and have this affected the hydrocracker catalyst activity or have anyone applied a testrun in hydrocracker to increase the CO level in PSA hydrogen to see the effect at downstream hydrocracking catalyst activity. Since the CO level in PSA hydrogen increases, the hydrogen recovery(hydrogen production) of PSA increases.

Best regards,

Operation Engineer in Refinery

I am designing a PSA in Hydrogen Unit in school design class. I have researched Air Products PSA adsorb any amount of co or co2 that comes in the stream.

Does anybody has any idea how to size PSA please? I am going crazy here researching that stuff how to size it.
