Hiya,
My qn is: 2 connected cylinders with the same gas. One at a pressure of 3bar, the other 2bar. When mixed together to reach equilibrium, what are the final pressures in both? Is it 2.5 bar each?
Thanks for any help on this!!

Thanks for ur help..I understand the pressure bit much better now.
In the same question, I forgot to mention that the process is at constant volume. Referring to the attached diagram, does that mean when the stops are removed & all oscillations have ceased that the piston would return to its initial length, L=10cm since volume is constant?
Thanks...

Apologies..
The process is NOT at constant volume but reversible adiabatic. So I take it the lengths WILL now change & the piston would move to the right. If both cylinders are at the same temp. How do I find the final temp if it's an ideal gas?
