Hello

I have a integral recip Clark VRA-12 three stage (three throw) compressor offshore,

first stage: 25" bore cyl

second stage: 16.5" bore cyl

third stage: 10.5" bore cyl

300 rpm

flow rate 5 MMscfd (nat gas 0.65 sg), 40-1200 psi, 70 deg F inlet gas. All three cylinders are double acting (all valves loaded)

I've been reading several other posts and refer to Hysys simulator. Is it possible to estimate the blowdown volume to atmosphere during a normal shutdown using a spreadsheet to calculate this for example?

I appreciate any guidance that you could provide

Mino

if you know compositions & conditions you know densities,

form those and internal volumes you know the total amount of fluid inside

a section of your system, time required for blowdown will depend

from flow, by the way I solve similar problems with Excel

and a process library (PRODE), but alternative solutions are available.
