we have a gas sweetening plant ;capacity-5.6 MMSCMD with H2S PPM-170 & CO2-6.5% V/V. SWEET GAS SPECIFICATION REQUIRED-H2S-<4 PPM ;Presently we are using MDEA with concentration of 500-550 gm/lts & circulation rate is 190 m3/hr. Feed gas temp is 35 -37 0C & lean amine temp to the absorber is 45 0C & regenerator temp is maintained at 130-132 0C at bottom & 110-112 0C at the top;But H2S ppm in outlet sweetgas remains 4-6 ppm; Pl suggest any remedial measures & state the optimum temperatures at absorber & regenerator column. Pressure in absorber is 50-55 KG/CM2 & that in regenerator is 1.0 KG/CM2; Please reply urgently regarding remedial measures required to meet sweet gas specification to my email-scmdcm1@yahoo.co.in

For amine plant sweetening process using MDEAoperating parameters are:
Concentration: < 45 wt%. Molarity should be < 3.8 (m/l)
Use a rich loading of 0.50 ~ 0.62 ( mol acid gas/mol amine circulation).
Lean loading should be 0.002~0.005 mol/mol.
Temperature difference between lean amine and feed gas should be > 5 deg. C. to avoid hydrocarbon condensation in amine, which will promot foaming.
Is lean amine fully regenarated.Chech H2S in lean amine. We try to maintain <200 ppm. However at 130 deg.C in top and 110 deg.C at bottom of Regn. I think no problem of H2S in lean amine. If CO2 is no problem, change amine feed location to lower tray ( I am not sure it is a tray or packed column)of the absorber column.*
Is there any foaming in the absorber column?. If yes, H2S in out of Abs. column will fluctuate. Is it happen due to high ambient temperature?
