Dears,

I am searching for a good source that explain the chocked flow. I have not dealt with compressible flow and I want a source that help me in understanding the origin of Mach number, sonic velocity... etc. Please advise me.

Googling...will provide you many many technical documents and references about the choked flow and associated characteristics...

There is no such thing as "chocked" flow.  The correct term is CHOKED flow.  It means "strangled" or restricted in flow.

 

Countless students keep repeating this mistaken spelling.  My guess is that there is a Fluid Mechanics professor out there that doesn't know how to spell correctly.  The reason for knowing the correct spelling is so that when you use a SEARCH engine with the term, you won't waste days trying to find information about it.
