Can any one help me how to calculate heat exchanger performance, preferably in an excel sheet.

The other possibility is to conduct mass & heat balances and compare them with the data sheet of your equipment .

you can use Kern's method, by the calculation of the required Area and compare it with the installed area,

Do you want to check performance of an operating exchanger for which you have collected data?

Exactly Bobby. I have only operating temperature data in the heat exchanger. I try to find the differential temperature of heat exchanger and compare with original / clean condition. Since feed is too much fluctuation between design and actual figure, I am not interested HEX effectiveness factor or overall heat transfer coefficient of clean and actual condition.

The only comparison to design is to calculate the heat transfer coefficient from your data. Which means you must calculate the effectiveness to derive the heat transfer coefficient. If the flow is significantly different from design, you can estimate expected performance by scaling the design conditions in the appropriate manner. I presume the performance is not acceptable; otherwise you would be working on other important things.
