I'm doing preliminary research for my final year project, it is required that I construct a source of NO2 within the laboratory. Are there any suggestions of different methods I can investigate, or experience from someone who is knowledgeable in this field.?

Wikipedia suggests a process that start with HNO3, remove water, which eventually yields NO2. https://en.wikipedia...itrogen_dioxideWikipedia and others also describe using a ReDox reaction with HNO3 and different metals to get NO2.

Hi Karen,
Try Copper or tin metal addition to measured quantity of Conc. Nitric Acid.
Nitric Acid is easily available and should give you the NO2 by Disproportionation reaction with the weak metals.
