Kindly suggest what would be the ideal Design pressure for a Reactor Jacket.

Does jacket fall under the category of Pressure vessel as condensate isn't held in the jacket for a long time.

Reactor is Mild Steel glass lined with Agitator.

We use steam for heating and water for cooling in jacket.

We want to optimize the heat transfer coefficient.

hi ,

let you consider the link attached, you should learn a lot from this company:

http://www.ddpsinc.c...&_hsmi=42795893

Be extremely careful with Thermal shock.  Sharing steam and cooling in the same jacket is not a good idea.  You need to make sure your jacket is free of water prior to introducing steam; otherwise there is a risk of water hammer and, for sure, the death of the glass.

Good luck

Reactor jacket fall under pressure vessel design . ASME SecVIII Div1

If you want some more details search in GMM Pfaudler  / De-Dietrich, Swiss Glass coat websites.
