Is there any empirical relation or formula to calculate the volume of HX (Shell volume) for a given amount of heat duty or specifically with known heat transfer area.
1. For a kettle type vaporizer where required heat transfer area is 30 m2. LP steam in tube side and methyl chloride liquid on the shell side.
2. A shell and tube HX where required heat transfer area is 9 m2. Chlorine vapor in the tube and LP steam in shell side as heating media.
3. What material of construction can be used for heating chlorine vapor in tube side? Heating media is LP steam.
