I am trying to calculate blowdown rates for a vessel. The vessel has gas inventory. API – 521 recommends a value of 80-100 KW/m2 or 25200-31500 btu/ft2h for unwetted vessels. However taking this value results in very high vessel temperatures. Is there a better way of inputting the heat flux to a gas filled vessel.
