There is this case study that I need help with. There is a natural gas field which contains 70% of carbon dioxide, 24% methane, 5.5% Ethane and 0.5% Propane offshore. The objective develop a conceptual process design for a floating chemical plant offshore (No capturing of CO2).
What is most economical ideal chemical product (including the process) that utilizes carbon dioxide? Is it possible to make use of the other compositions like methane and propane?
I was planning to go for production of ethyl formate using the tri-reformation process but I would like to know if there are better alternative.
