Dear Friends,
Do you follow the following practice for overpressure/accumulation pressure? This is the practice from an EPC company.
The protected equipment includes piping which is pneumatically tested. Per ASME B31.3, during relieving events the pressure in the piping system may not exceed the system pneumatic test pressure. Therefore, since the pneumatic test pressure is usually 10% above design, the allowable overpressure above the PSV set pressure for single or multiple relief valves is 10% for non-fire scenarios and also for fire scenario.
Thank you,
Leo
