Hi to all,
In Flare Knockout drum, no valid liquid case exist and i consider liquid flow as 2 wt % of maximum gas flow.
Is this good practice to size horizontal KOD or Vertical KOD?

There would be no preference of one type or the other for KOD so far as the gas carries no liquid droplets.
The KO efficiency may depends more on the particle size than the total content of liquid carrying over.
Horizontal type is preferred for the longer residence time for finer liquid droplets.
Sizing formula, I remember, seems to be developed usually based on >98% removal of more than 300 micron droplets.
