Hi,
I understand that the subject on Control Valve sizing for 2-phase flow has been discussed several times by the community on this forum. However, what I could not make a clear sense of, on the matter is
listed as follows:
1. Addition, HEM-DS (modified expansion factor, Deiner and Schmidt, 2005) and Warren's Controls 2-Phase Cv Equation (https://tinyurl.com/y6rz4nw3)
2. The credibility of the addition model with valve characteristics, i.e., equal percentage and linear.
Pertaining to the second point, addition model may be suitable for linear valve characteristics (clarification appreciated) however can't be employed for equal percentage (non-linear variation of % Cv design with opening).
May I know the applicability and the boundary of the applicability for addition model to the 2-phase system I am considering?
The two phase system I am dealing with is liquid (assuming crude oil instead of crude oil+water) and gas (associated hydrocarbon vapors).
