The ammonia received from our supplier contains high contents of oil. This ammonia is first unloaded in a storage facility and is then transferred to our other facility. To remove oil, mostly liquid-liquid coalescers are used. Can anyone provide reference of such facilities where this system is used. How can i simulate  or find number of coalescers to reduce oil contents from 20000 ppm to 10 ppm.

Also, are there any other proven solutions to this problem.

Hi,

May be trivial , why do you accept this material from your supplier ? he should be responsible to supply the right material , at least to take it back if out of spec !

You should consider an other source .

To add to my comments above a link to Pall you may consider .
