In distillation column , Reboiler duty and condenser duty should always match . I hv observed that Reboiler duty is just above condenser duty in hysys column

A distillation column is an essential item used in the distillation of liquid mixtures to separate the mixture into its component parts, or fractions, based on the differences in volatilities. Fractionating columns are used in small scale laboratory distillations as well as large scale industrial distillations.
 
 
There are many types of distillation columns, each designed to perform specific types of separations, and each design differs in terms of complexity.

I have question regarding reason of high diff. pressure in distillation column. Can it may be because of low liquid reflux flow or dual flow in reflux due to upstream pressure drop? Assuming reboiling duty is already reduced than operating value, feed flow is same and feed service is ethylene and ethane composition. what I feel that dual flow in total reflux flow will reduce the net reflux and top product and bottom both will affected. Once top product quality start affecting, we try to reduce reboiling and thus bottom quality starts contaminate. But main question is that if net liquid reflux is getting affected then column overhead part is loaded with high vapour load and thus can be seen high diff. pressure. Can enlighten the thoughts.

You can expect to find that hydrates are the likely cause of your problem. It's quite unusual to find tray damage in this service. And, to clarify your question, you should provide numbers that reflect your operation. I don't know what dual reflux is, for example. And a flow diagram would be helpful, including upstream operations.

You can expect to find that hydrates are the likely cause of your problem. It's quite unusual to find tray damage in this service. And, to clarify your question, you should provide numbers that reflect your operation. I don't know what dual reflux is, for example. And a flow diagram would be helpful, including upstream operations.
