What are the procedures to design demister? I have calculated maximum gas capacity value, K, using the gas flowrate, diameter of the column and a 20% allowance. I have also seen some others calculating K based on the allowable/passable droplet size, but I was only tasked to design a demister for a cumene plant flash drum without any other information. Can someone offer some suggestions or confirmation on my calculation? I have no industrial experience and it is difficult to gauge my answer.

Inner Diameter: 363inches
Operating Temperature: 186.06F
Gas flowrate: 1284 m3/hr
My calculations:
K value = 0.16159m/s
K value (with 20% allowance) = 1.9390 m/s
