Hello.

 

Do you know if any Steam Cracking furnaces in the world uses combustion air preheaters? I have never heard about such solution on the Steam Cracking and I am wonder if there are any technical restrictions to use it on this plant.

Hi Movers,

 

IMO there is no restriction in providing a APH on a steam cracker furnace.

Air preheating on steam cracker was patented by KBR in 1986:

while TechnipFMC is currently offering APH on their low emission cracker furnace as described in the attached link:

I think the competitors Lummus and Linde offers similar solutions to keep the efficiency and the emissions aligned with peers.

OK, APH was patented and it is offered by Licensors  it but have they used it anywhere on the SC production plant?
