Hi all

I am going to design caustic scrubber for refinery off gas.

Is there any procedure for measurement of  both  na2s( sodium sulfide ) and nash( sodium hydrosulfide )in aqueous  solution?

Hi,

For caustic soda , usually we perform the analysis of free caustic over the time together with the measurement of the Ph of solution in the sump . Below a certain Ph , the solution has to be replaced to guarantee the efficiency of the scrubbing solution .

To me pointless to measure the impurities neutralized .

Note : Be aware of the cost to dispose the spent solution (dirty liquid)

Good luck
