I need to simulate abatement of acid gases (HCl, SO2) with sodium bicarbonate injection into a stream o flue gas, but it seems that sodium bicarbonate is not available among Hysys components. Any suggestions?

And you are not likely to simulate the process since it involves reactions. You should search the web for information. If it is a serious project, you should contact vendors who offer systems. But my guess is this is of only academic interest.

Good luck,

Bobby

Hi,

As suggested , you may contact vendor if this is for an industrial application .  Solvay is one of the leader on this application for many years . They had a skid mounted pilot for industrial tests  (many years ago) !

I want to specify that I have some knowledge about the process and that the intent is not academic. I generally analyzed the flue gas treatment using spreadsheets, but I want to create a Hysys model to take also into account the thermal aspects and the interconnections with the steam system. The question concerns the modeling of solids, possibly not present in the Hysys database, if anyone has experience with it.
