Dear All;
I have been requested to design a crude carrier unloading station which receives crude from the carrier pump (4000 m3/hr). The rated head of the pump does not exceeds 5 barg which is not sufficient to deliver crude to crude terminal. the average capacity of the carrier is 1 million bbl. The pressure required to deliver crude to terminal is about 20 barg. My idea is to receive the carrier crude into a Tank (the capacity of the tank is about 5000 bbl) and after the tank level reaches 50% the transfer pump (connected to the tank) is started. the rated head of crude transfer pump is 23 barg. My question is :
Can i fill the tank and draw crude from it in the same time?
If yes, what are the main issues to take into considerations?
Tank you in advance.
