Hi,

I have a reactor (2m3) from where I want to take sample through manhole with a stick. In the reactor mixture there is methanol which as you know is flammable. I am worried about sparking. What's the probability of sparking if my stick is stainless steel, same as reactor, in case both items hit each other.

Thanks

Hi,

You need to have your vessel grounded !  not only material but also people could generate sparks ( shoes material is also important , same for Zip ...)  . Probably good to have your sky of the reactor blanketed ( N2).
