For power plants with FGD stack height calculation formula is 6.902 (Qx0.277)^0.555

 

Now this Q is So2 in kg.hr so i want to know this Q is flow rate before FGD or after FGD.

 

Also how to decide wether FGD will be reuired or only lime injection will do.

 

How to calculate So2 emisison rate for 

 

 150 MW power plant with Pet coke 7 % S and Fuel consumption 104 TPH

 

Flow 100000Nm3/hr

sir got 1 answer that Q is after treatment. now standards given in attach docs are changed so i want to know 6.902 (Qx0.277)^0.555 when this formula is to be used and how to decide wether FGD is required or not.

Hi ,

I cannot help you more , you need to contact your local EPA about the regulation at your place about SO2 and the need for FGD . 

Talk to your HSE manager (engineer) , he should be able to direct you to the right person.

As for SO2 calculation , you need to get data about S content in the fuel and then convert S to SO2 .
