Hello Engineers

I would like to ask you if you have or know a specific procedure for removal of the gases above the liquid in storage tanks.

A company called us last week asking if we can remove the gases above the liquid in storage tanks and replace it with Nitrogen gas until they finish their inspection of the tank.

Please help me with this, If you have ever worked with this kind of service please tell me your advise or some mistakes we need to avoid.

Thank you

Hi,

Please clarify the scope of work of this company ! are they willing to inspect the storage tank from inside with product stored (L+G)?

Stored fluid?

Tank's safety device facilities?

Design Pressure?

Free vent?

The Tank will be filled with liquid

Our scope is to remove the gases above the liquid and the other company will drop a robot to inspect the bottom of the tank.

we have to supply Nitrogen gas till their inspection is completed.

Hi,

Consider sweeping method :

https://www.cheresou...weeping-method/

why do they request N2 ? is your product flammable ? is there risks for the "robot" to generate sparks , is it EXE ?

Good luck

Using Nitrogen to remove the O2 so there will not be any chance for ignition.

yes it is flammable

The risks the other company will handle the robot.

but my company will only provide the nitrogen
