Dear All,
Hope you all are safe and in good health.

I am currently heading valve division of a company. We have lately entered into the field of manufacturing venting devices and have observed confusion in the Indian market regarding mandatory certification requirements for venting devices.
Requesting valuable input from group members on the queries mentioned below:
1. Is Atex certification mandatory for Flame Arresters, Breather Valves or Breather Valve with Flame Arresters in India also? Can someone please help me with extract of any standard that mentions mandatory requirement of Atex for venting devices in Asia.
2. Can a vendor who performs testing of flame arrester or Breather Valve with lame Arrester as per ISO 16852:2008 or IS:16485:2016 and give compliance for the same through Third Party Inspection Witness sell such products in India?
3. Is there any standard or procedure mentioned to measure gap width of flame arrester elements?

Many manufacturers in India are forcing PSU and other consultants to mandatory include Atex as requirement for purchasing Flame Arrester, under such case small manufacturers who can't afford such expensive certification are losing projects despite performing testing and documentation as prescribed in standard.
