I would like to ask you if you could share with me some knowledge about pigging of pipelines.
Actually, I am trying to calculate the air required to push the pig and clean the line.
However, I cannot find useful information in Google.
I appreciate any help!

Panagiotis:
You say you need to "pig" a pipeline, but you don't state what is the fluid transported in the pipeline. I assume the fluid is petroleum or natural gas. You should be specific. Are you proposing to use air in a hydrocarbon system?
There are other factors involved with a pigging operation. Regardless of what fluid you are handling, I believe you should be advised as to the importance of Breizh's sound and important advice: SAFETY is the prime and utmost concern in designing and operating a pigging operation. Smart engineering with pigging operations requires consultation and working directly with successful, expert contractors that have accumulated proven design, fabrication, installation, and training performance in this operation.
Safety is of primary concern because of the simple fact that any pigging operation is simply operated or controlled MANUALLY. That means that fail-safe devices are of primary importance. Just as a drilling operation can never be automated or "computer-controlled", so it also is with pigging operations. That is why this is an area of engineering dominated by experts with considerable field experience. Stay aware and totally knowledgeable about each of the required pigging operations, how they work, what can go wrong, how to prevent dangerous operations, and run rigorous, detailed, accurate HAZOPS - as many as you can afford.
I'm attaching some very BASIC pigging information and an old thread in case you are interested. Stay safe.

I will go through the documents.
I am interested in pigging the lines of food industry.

Hi,
Something is very weird , you want to use Air and your application is food industry !
How do you manage sanitization ? I'm very much worried with your idea . Won't be better to use purified gas , let say N2, or Steam ?
You definitively need to work more on the process side and discuss with your client.
Good luck
