What's a common practise to drain and charge a close loop line.

For example a hot thermal oil line?

Hi,

The query isn't so clear...

But in general, draining a close loop is initiated by opening the high point vent and then opening the low point drain...

Charging included  priming as much as possible and then getting the remain air out by opening the high point vent while the make up line is open...

Hi,

Before refilling the loop make sure it's clean ! you may have to use solvent to get rid of  dirt, coke and other degradation products .

Let you consult your hot oil supplier .
