When reading some articles online, I encountered this line: "Thus, the overall results lead to confirm the coating of support with a limit of deposition of zirconium of 15 Zr nm-2." 

May you tell me what does "15 Zr nm-2" mean? I have never seen this unit before.

nm-2 means "per square nanometer"  (1nm x 1nm).  What is missing is the unit of numerator.

 

May be 15 Zr atoms per square nanometer? Not knowing the context of the article it is difficult to say.
