Hi guys, I have a question about distillation columns and their price and commercialization.

Ussually, when you buy a distillation column, do you buy the column and the reboiler + condenser? Or are the condensers and reboilers bought to another company and afterwoods attached to the column?

Data sheets are prepared for each equipment item and sent for bids. Heat exchangers are usually manufactured by specialists. Columns require less finesse since they are just large pressure vessels. The column internals are purchased from a different vendor than the column itself. Column internals are within the pressure walls and are engineered for process performance instead of pressure containment.
