1. Most often, our hydrotreater feed gets analysed for CCR? But, I would to understand, as there are variety of compounds in the feed, right from paraffins/olefins/diolefins/aromatics etc.

Which kind of compounds in the feed is causing Carbon Residue?

You should not open multiple topics about basically the same issue: CCR and asphaltenes in hydrotreater feed.

 

CCR is caused by presence of high molecular weight polycyclic aromatics and asphaltenes.

 

Too high CCR usually means insufficient washing in the distillation column resulting in entrainment of residue into the lowest (vacuum) gasoil product draw.
